Student Experience Updates

The revamped assessment platform includes a number of updates to improve the user experience.
User Interface: Students will experience a cleaner, flatter design and easier interactions with question content and test tools.

Navigation: Students can now use the drop down menu to navigate between questions and see an indicator with which ones they have completed. There is also a progress bar in the upper right corner.

| Submission Page: The submission page now alerts students clearly if they have unanswered questions or bookmarked questions before they submit the assessment. |

Responsive: Responsive design ensures that students can successfully complete assessments on various devices, including tablets.

Grading and Feedback Updates

There are two major updates that are intended to support teachers in providing more effective feedback and make it easier to score/grade assessment questions.

Question Level Feedback
You may now add written feedback underneath the score for each individual question on an assessment. This can support students in using the assessment to drive their next steps in learning. You will also notice that the scoring field now scrolls alongside the question responses.

Pin Question to Top of Screen
This new feature lets you pin the question at the top, and makes the question clearly visible as you score each student's response on the page.

Linking Questions

Previously, only multiple choice questions could be linked together. Now all question types may be linked together to appear on the same page. Specific instructions are available on the Linked Questions page (Engrade Support). Below is an example of two graphing questions that are linked:
Improved Accessibility Features

It is important to continue to improve BCPS One to accessible to all users. Students may now answer drag-and-drop questions using keyboard shortcuts alone (tab + spacebar + enter) without the need of a mouse. This shortcut should be familiar to students that use them on a regular basis.
