Granting Access to Long Term Substitutes
return to top
In order to ensure that instruction continues when a teacher is out on leave, long term substitutes can access BCPS One. Daily substitutes do not have access at this time. Listed below are the steps required to grant access to long term substitutes.
- The principal notifies Human Resources (HR) they have hired a long term substitute and the principal processes the appropriate paperwork requesting a network ID and password to be set up.
- HR/Payroll updates the pay rate to reflect that the substitute has been placed into a long term position.
- The principal completes a BCPS Serve request to add the substitute to the school. This will ensure the long term substitute is added to the SIS user list, STARS faculty list and SILK (secondary only) teacher list.
- The appropriate staff schedules classes to the substitute in SIS/SILK.
- Long term substitutes will have access to BCPS One as part of the roster process in the evening feed from the SIS. They will see those classes listed under their name.
