The repository contains free, subscribed, and BCPS-created content that can be searched and added directly to lesson tiles.  The following third party publishers are available (as of 8/1/2015) in the repository:

 

Publisher Description 
Brain Pop  

BrainPop offers animated educational movies, quizzes, games, activities, and educator resources. Each of the more than 750 topics features a short animated movie in which a boy named Tim and his robot friend Moby introduce learners to concepts in different subject areas. The movies are supplemented with resources including a quiz, activities, related games, a timeline, and a selection of high-interest reading. 

  • Target Audience: BrainPop topics are appropriate for students in grades 3 through 12. Some are directed toward elementary school learners, while others address more sophisticated topics.
  • Content Connections:  Science, Math, English, Social Studies, Health, Technology, and Arts & Music. 
Discovery Education  

Discovery Education Streaming Plus is the largest digital content resource library in education. It contains over 40,000 video clips, 4,000 full videos, and images as well as interactive learning resources. 

  • Target Audience: Grades K-12
  •  Content Connections:   Discovery Education Streaming Plus supports learning in ALL content areas. 

Khan Academy

Khan Academy offers practice exercises and instructional videos that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom.

  • Target Audience: Grades K-12
  • Content Connections: math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more
MSDE

MSDE assessment tasks and resources in Mathematics and English Language Arts are available for use.  

NASA 

NASA resources include learning modules, interactive websites, fact sheets, educator's guides and more related primarily to environmental, earth and space science, and engineering. 

National Geographic Education  National Geographic Education provides access to numerous lessons and activities for teachers connected with high quality digital resources.  Content includes geography, history, science, and much more. 
ReadingWonders

ReadingWonders is the elementary language arts resource that is included in curriculum.  This resource is available for K-5 teachers only.  You may search and add texts, leveled readers, and interactive student activities to the lesson tiles.  

  • Target Audience: Grades K-5
  • Content Connections: English language arts, with opportunities for interdisciplinary connections

Assign Repository Content to Lesson Tiles

Once you have searched and previewed the digital content you would like to use, the content can be added directly to the lesson tiles from the repository view. 

 

1. Below the title and description of the content item you would like to students to access, select "Assign."   
2.  Enter the date which you would like to assign the item on the lesson tiles.  Check the box next to each of the classes to which you would like to assign the content.   
3. Once you have completed assigning all content you wish to assign from repository at this time, return to the desired class by selecting from the drop down list at the top of the page.    
4.  Select "Lessons" from the left navigation bar. 
5.  View the date you selected and verify that the repository content was correctly assigned.  If you would like to adjust which students have access to this content, you may do this at this time.
